We’re halfway there!! If you’ve been able to catch up, you should now have 10 of the 20 blocks completed. And if you are like me, you’re probably also thinking your design wall isn’t big enough! It’s clear that when we are done we will all have some nice BIG quilts for our beds 🙂
Here are today’s blocks (and if you need to review the block piecing instructions, just click here.)
Block 11 is a fun zig-zag and this time around I used a different layout than my original quilt. I’m loving the fun stripes in this April Showers line and how they play in the blocks. Below are a few other options.
Block 12 is such a classic looking block. After I pieced mine and then played around a bit more with the layouts, I really fell in love the middle option below. Guess I should have played around with the options before I put my block together!
Now it’s your turn, and don’t forget to share your photos if you can on Flickr and Instagram!
Let’s have some fun and give away a few prizes to make all of your work even more worth it. First up is a wonderful prize pack from my good friend Heather of Crimson Tate (my favorite local quilt shop!) She graciously donated this pretty jelly roll of Nature’s Palette from Free Spirit along with a fun collection of Soak nail polish curated by Sandi Henderson.
Next is a Wishes charm pack from myself along with a beautiful Aurifil thread set.
And the final prize for this round is another charm pack, Odds & Ends with another pretty Aurifil thread set.
To enter, just click on the “view/add link” tool below to add a link to your Layer Cake Sampler progress photo. You can link to your blog, Flickr, Instagram or other photo. Next week I will randomly choose 3 winners to receive one of the wonderful prizes.
Thanks again for quilting along with me and I’ll see you next week with Blocks 13 & 14.
