W.I.P. Wednesday {1.8.14}

I’m not sure how the weather is in your neck of the woods, but here it has been bitterly cold with tons of snow.  My county has been on a snow emergency (meaning only essential, emergency traffic) since Sunday.  So, what is a girl to do with all of this time stuck inside…sew of course!

I pieced these blocks last week before the storm.  They are from the Lucky Stars block of the month and I am shamefully behind.

July Block: Lucky Stars July block

August Block:

Lucky Stars August block

Then on Sunday when the storm hit I started working on a gift quilt.  The recipient requested a Swoon quilt using Salt Air fabric.  So far I have 7 of the 9 blocks done.

Block 1 (so pretty!)

Block 2
Swoon 2

Block 3
Swoon 3

Block 4 (I adore the whale tails!)
Swoon 4

Block 5 (love that red!)
Swoon 5

Block 6 (my favorite!!)

Block 7
Swoon 7

Have you been stuck inside and able to sew as well?  I’d love to hear what you are working on during these snow days!

Also, happy 8th birthday to this guy.  I’m so blessed to be his Mommy 🙂

  1. I love love ur new quilt. for some reason I have been out of the quilting mode. With school out for so long and having to stay in with my 7 & 10 grands am lucky to find the floor. School starts back tomorrow so many after cleaning up I will be able to get back in the mood. Love looking at yours for now Pat

  2. That August block is knocking me out, it’s fabulous! Happy Birthday to your little one — he shares his birthday with Elvis, David Bowie . . . and me!

  3. I’m anxious to see both of these quilts all put together. They are going to be striking. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the birthday boy!
