Happy New Year! I hope you all have enjoyed the holidays. I know it was wonderful to take a break from work, blogging and other commitments just to spend some quality time with the family and friends that matter to me most.
For my first W.I.P. Wednesday of the year, I am reminded that I still have quite a list of unfinished projects around my sewing room. That of course did not stop me from jumping on the bandwagon of the “Scrappy Trip Along”. I follow a number of fabulous quilty bloggers on Instagram and have been tempted by their beautiful photos of these great scrap quilts. It all started over the weekend and I finally caved yesterday and joined in the fun. Here are 8 of the 10 blocks I completed yesterday afternoon (how nice to start the new year sewing for fun!).
Since I was already cleaning out/re-orgainzing my scrap bins, this was the perfect project to use some of them up! I have used all very bright fabrics in my blocks and hope to continue the red/hot pink centers as I progress to give them an added design element. I have so many other dark scraps that I could make another quilt just with those
There is a wonderful tutorial on Quiltville.com that shows how to create these fun and scrappy blocks.
I am not sure yet how big I will be making this quilt, but it has been a lot of fun so far and the blocks are pretty quick and easy to make.
So, what do you think? How about joining in on the fun? Below are some useful links to provide you with more info. or just beautiful inspiration.

That is such a cute quilt – how fun. I love the colors.
I am so thinking about joining in on this as well. They look so pretty and it is such a good way to use up some scraps. Not if only there were 48 hours in a day instead of just 24
Yours looks great!
This looks great Amanda! Happy and bright – looks fun!
Yours looks great! I made this last year with some really old fabric. Great pattern.
Love your Scrappy Trip colors! These are such fun blocks, aren’t they? Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday, and happy 2013. : )
Oh my! This is one of my faves of the plethora of pictures of quilts right now! Awesome!
I love the bright happy fabric in your quilt. It’s fun to be part of the craze!
